If you've spent any time around AdorabellaPixel, you've probably noticed a few things about me.
I love gaming, reading, writing, creating things, collecting entirely too many planners, and getting distracted by approximately a thousand side quests. ๐
I also tend to write the way I speak: thoughtfully, sometimes at length, and often with more detail than anyone actually asked for.
That's simply who I am.
Lately, I've encountered a few assumptions about my writing style, my artwork, and why I share content online. Rather than addressing those things individually every time they come up, I thought this would be a good opportunity to share a little more about myself and the creative world I'm building.
Because behind every website, username, and little digital character is a real person with a story.
๐ Why I Write the Way I Do
One thing I've learned is that people sometimes associate structured, polished writing with artificial intelligence.
But for some of us, that's simply how we've learned to communicate.
My professional background involves years of education, professional development, and continuing education requirements. I'm also pursuing my PhD in Psychology, which means academic writing, research, and thoughtful discussion are regular parts of my life.
After years of writing papers, participating in professional discussions, and working in fields where communication matters, those habits naturally carry over into everyday conversations.
I don't sit down to write a Reddit post and think, "How can I make this sound academic?"
I just write.
I'm also a published author, and writing has been something I've loved for years. Sometimes my thoughts turn into several paragraphs when a few sentences would probably do.
That's not artificial intelligence.
That's just me. ๐
๐ฎ Why I Share Content Online
Here's something that might surprise people: I'm not particularly interested in chasing internet popularity.
Of course, I appreciate every person who follows my content, visits my website, or takes the time to leave a thoughtful comment.
But numbers aren't why I started sharing.
I started because I genuinely enjoy connecting with people who share my interests.
I love talking about cozy games, discovering hidden features, discussing books, sharing creative projects, and helping someone figure out something they're struggling with.
Sometimes I want to share a useful gaming guide.
Sometimes I want to talk about a book that completely consumed my weekend.
And sometimes I just want to show off a cute dinosaur I befriended in Paleo Pines.
Not everything needs to have a marketing strategy behind it.
Sometimes sharing something simply because it makes you happy is reason enough.
And if I make a few wonderful friends along the way? Even better.
๐จ Let's Talk About My Artwork
I believe transparency matters, especially when you're building something creative.
So I want to address something openly.
Have I purchased artwork that turned out to be AI-generated?
Yes.
Unfortunately, I purchased artwork from Etsy sellers whose descriptions led me to believe I was buying something different.
When I became aware of that, I began making changes.
I understand why people have concerns about AI-generated artwork, particularly when it comes to supporting independent artists and protecting their creative work.
Those concerns matter to me, too.
That's why I've been putting time, effort, and resources into developing artwork that genuinely represents my vision.
Meet Bella, Pixel, and Glitch ๐
My characters aren't just random decorations for my website.
They're part of the little world I've been building.
Bella is a reflection of me, right down to the tattoos and piercings I actually have on my body.
Her appearance wasn't decided overnight. An artist and I spent several weeks discussing details, adjusting designs, and working toward something that felt right.
Pixel, my dragon companion, and Glitch, my celestial sugar glider, have their own personalities, stories, and places within the AdorabellaPixel universe.
They're characters I've grown incredibly attached to, and I'm excited to continue developing their stories.
My banners, fonts, and other design elements come from purchased design resources or things I create myself using Canva.
When I'm editing screenshots or working on graphics, I also use Affinity and Photoshop.
I genuinely enjoy the process of creating.
And while I'm still learning, experimenting, and improving, that's part of what makes it fun.
Creativity doesn't have to be perfect to be meaningful.
๐ธ The Human Being Behind the Screen
Now, there's something I want to talk about that goes beyond artwork, gaming, or writing.
It's how we treat one another online.
I've noticed how easily people can make assumptions about someone they've never met.
A writing style becomes a reason for suspicion.
An illustration becomes an invitation for criticism.
A harmless post becomes an opportunity for someone to leave an unnecessarily hurtful comment.
And somewhere along the way, we seem to forget that there's a real human being reading those words.
Someone with feelings.
Someone with a life outside the internet.
Someone who might already be carrying more than we realize.
My interest in psychology and my passion for mental health advocacy have only strengthened something I've believed for a very long time:
Kindness matters, especially when we don't know someone's story.
You never know whether the person you're interacting with is dealing with grief, chronic illness, anxiety, family struggles, or a hundred other things they haven't shared publicly.
That doesn't mean we can't disagree.
It doesn't mean criticism is automatically unkind.
And it certainly doesn't mean everyone has to enjoy the same things.
But we can disagree without being cruel.
We can ask questions before making accusations.
And we can remember that being behind a keyboard doesn't make our words any less real.
It costs exactly $0 to be kind.
That's something I hope we can all remember a little more often.
๐ What I Hope AdorabellaPixel Becomes
When I think about what I want this little corner of the internet to become, I don't picture follower counts or engagement statistics.
I picture a welcoming community.
A place where someone can talk about their favorite game without feeling embarrassed.
Where readers can recommend books that made them laugh, cry, or stay awake until three in the morning.
Where artists and creators can share their work.
Where people can be enthusiastic about their hobbies, ask questions, learn something new, and make genuine friendships.
I want AdorabellaPixel to be a place where you don't have to be perfect, popular, or particularly good at a game to belong.
You just have to be yourself.
I'm still figuring things out as I go.
My website will continue changing. My artwork will evolve. I'll learn new skills, discover new games, read far too many books, and probably find another hobby I absolutely don't have room for.
But the heart behind everything I share will remain the same.
Creativity. Community. Kindness. And a healthy appreciation for endless side quests. โจ
๐ A Little Invitation
If you've made it this far, thank you for taking the time to get to know a little more about the person behind AdorabellaPixel.
Whether you're here for gaming guides, book reviews, creative projects, or simply because you stumbled across my little corner of the internet, I'm happy you're here.
I'd love to get to know you, too.
What brought you here? Are you a cozy gamer, an avid reader, a fellow creator, or someone who collects hobbies like side quests?
Tell me a little about yourself.
After all, the best part of building a community isn't how many people follow you.
It's the friendships you make along the way.
With love, a little chaos, and probably another unfinished planner,
Bella ๐
