💜 Meet Bella and Pixel: A HuffleRaven Duo
I have always felt like a combination of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw—a HuffleRaven with the loyal heart of a Hufflepuff and the curious, creative mind of a Ravenclaw.
Bella is kind, resilient, imaginative, and always eager to uncover one more secret hidden inside the castle. Of course, no magical adventure would be complete without Pixel, her mischievous crystal dragon familiar and loyal gaming companion.
Together, Bella and Pixel are ready to explore every corridor, solve every puzzle, meet magical creatures, and probably collect far more gear than they actually need. 💜
🪄 The Starbound Heart
Bella carries The Starbound Heart, a celestial wand decorated with a coiled dragon, feline tail, heart-shaped gemstone, and glowing pink and purple details. It represents a heart that remains loving despite everything it has survived—combining Ravenclaw imagination with Hufflepuff loyalty, compassion, and devotion.
🌌 Astra Noctis
Her Patronus is Astra Noctis, the Starbound Heart: a celestial winged black panther representing intuition, resilience, protection, and fierce love. When summoned, light travels along the Starbound Heart wand before Astra Noctis emerges and spreads her wings protectively around Bella and everyone she loves.
✨ Beginner Tips for Your Hogwarts Legacy Journey
Starting Hogwarts Legacy can feel overwhelming because there is so much to explore. The castle alone is filled with winding staircases, locked doors, puzzles, hidden rooms, Field Guide Pages, and collectibles. These tips can make your first hours much smoother.
Follow the main story at first
It is tempting to explore every hallway and run toward every icon immediately, but many important features are locked behind early story quests. Focus mainly on the yellow quest markers during roughly your first eight to ten hours. This helps you unlock spells, talents, flying, the Room of Requirement, and other useful mechanics before you wander too far.
Unlock your broom as quickly as possible
Continue following the main quests until you complete Flying Class. Afterward, you can purchase your first broom from Spintwitches Sporting Needs in Hogsmeade. A broom completely changes exploration: travel becomes faster, distant locations are easier to reach, and the enormous world feels far more manageable. 🧹✨
Cast Revelio everywhere
When in doubt, cast Revelio. Use it while exploring Hogwarts, walking through Hogsmeade, searching ruins, entering caves, and investigating unfamiliar areas. It can reveal interactable objects, Field Guide Pages, treasure, containers, puzzles, and other points of interest.
You can even cast Revelio while flying. Its extended detection range is especially useful from the air, helping you locate nearby activities and map icons as you travel. Pixel considers this the magical equivalent of checking underneath every rock for treasure.
Match spell colors to enemy shields
Enemy shields are color-coded, and you need a matching spell category to break them:
- 🟡Yellow shields: Use Control spells such as Levioso or Glacius.
- 🔴Red shields: Use Damage spells such as Incendio, Confringo, or Expelliarmus.
- 🟣Purple shields: Use Force spells such as Accio or Depulso.
Keep your spell diamonds consistent
Once you unlock multiple spell sets, arrange them so the same spell colors appear on the same buttons across every diamond. For example, always place a yellow Control spell at the top, a red Damage spell on the right, and a purple Force spell on the left. This builds muscle memory and helps you react quickly without searching for the spell you need.
Complete your basic-cast combo
Weave the complete four-hit basic-cast combination between spells whenever the situation allows. The final hit is stronger and gives the combo more impact. Alternating basic casts with spells also keeps pressure on enemies while your more powerful abilities cool down.
Save a spell slot with Accio
You do not always need to keep Wingardium Leviosa equipped in a spell diamond. After learning it, cast Accio on a movable object and continue holding the spell control to transition automatically into Wingardium Leviosa. That leaves a valuable slot open for another combat, exploration, or utility spell.
Choose talents thoughtfully—but do not panic
Talents become available after reaching the appropriate point in the main story, provided your character is at least level five. Read each description and choose upgrades that support how you actually enjoy playing.
Older guides may warn that talent choices are permanent, but that information is outdated. A free update added a talent-point reset function, allowing you to rebuild your witch or wizard without beginning an entirely new playthrough. You can read the official WB Games update notes here.
Sell unwanted gear regularly
Your gear inventory fills surprisingly quickly. Visit merchants often and sell weaker items you no longer need. Once an appearance has been collected, you can continue using its look through the transmog system after selling the original item. Looking fabulous is clearly an essential part of saving the wizarding world. ✨
Complete Merlin Trials for more inventory room
After Merlin Trials become available, complete enough of them to earn additional gear-storage rewards through the Challenges menu. Remember that challenge rewards may need to be claimed manually. More inventory space means fewer interrupted adventures and emergency trips to Hogsmeade.
Take Your Time and Create Your Own Story
There is no single correct way to experience Hogwarts Legacy. You can focus on combat, collect every Field Guide Page, rescue magical creatures, decorate the Room of Requirement, complete side quests, or spend an unreasonable amount of time coordinating your robes.
My favorite way to play is to balance the main story with plenty of wandering. I love finding the small magical details hidden throughout the world—and, naturally, casting Revelio every few seconds in case I missed something.
